Streaming Audio Problems

This streaming audio player should work on a Windows, Linux or Mac computer.  Regardless of computer type, you'll need to have the latest version of "Java" installed on your computer.  To verify you're running the "latest and greatest" version of Java, follow this link to verify your Java installation.

Please note that at certain times during the weekend, when broadcasting syndicated programming on our station, we must go offline.

If you're having problems connecting, check the following:

  • Speakers on?  Double-check by playing something else.
  • Did you try opening the player more than once?  Sometimes it doesn't 'catch' on the first go-around.
  • Have you run Windows Update recently?  If you have a brand new installation of Windows, you may need to do the Update before the streaming audio will work.  Open your browser, Tools Menu, 'Windows Update'.
  • Do you have a pop-up blocker installed?  You'll need to turn it off, test the player, and, if it works, add the link to the 'okay' sites of the pop-up program.
  • Close the browser, turn off your firewall program, open the browser back up and try it again.  If it works, you'll have to configure the firewall program to view the Web address as a 'trusted' site.
  • Your browser's Security settings might be set too high.  It has to allow Web plugins.  In Internet Explorer, open the Tools Menu, Internet Options, Security tab, then set it to 'Default Level'.  It is a mistake to rely on your browser to keep your system safe from viruses, worms and spyware.  You should use a quality firewall program, anti-virus software, and routinely run an anti-spyware program.  Our station uses the McAfee programs for all three forms of protection.  It is also recommended you purchase additional anti-spyware programs, such as Aluria or XoftSpy.
